mod-audio-stream is a FreeSWITCH module that forwards caller audio to a WebSocket endpoint and plays audio responses back into the call. It handles the media bug, resampling, and buffering, so anything from a voice assistant to a live transcription service can connect over a plain WebSocket.
It supports raw L16, PCMU, PCMA, and Opus audio, playback tracking events, and a break command to stop playback immediately. The module is a reimplementation of the original mod_audio_stream by amigniter, with a self-contained OpenSSL WebSocket client replacing libwsc, TLS support for ws:// and wss://, and a test suite that runs both standalone unit checks and integration tests against a live FreeSWITCH instance.
